MAYA

A live dance & new media performance, MAYA is an exploration into the complex layers of learned behavior, illusion, and linear time. The piece attempts to unravel the habits and patterns we develop through our experience of reality, and how we identify the parameters of our universe through restraints outside of ourselves. It is an introspection on identity and energetic origins.

The piece features C4D projected visuals by VR artist Damien Blaise, an original score by composer Michael Quinn, and is choreographed and performed by Caroline Haydon.

MAYA premiered at Studio C Gallery in DTLA in 2017, and was subsequently performed at Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica, CA, and at SAFEhouse Arts in San Francisco as part of the RAW Artist Residency Program. The piece continues to develop.
